My New Year's resolution is to get back to being able to do 10 pull-ups and to learn to love myself again. You may have seen my journey on learning to love myself postpartum in other places through the website. I was able to do 10 up until my second trimester, then I had to stop doing pull-ups because it creates intra-abdominal pressure, which can contribute to diastasis recti. 2-3 times per week I've been incorporating ways to strengthen my core, because if you have a weak core, you can't do a proper pull-up. I've basically started from the beginning using bands to help propel my body weight up above the bar. Right now my short term goal is to do 1 pull-up unassisted by the end ofJanuary, which I think is truly attainable. Here's to the near 2023, breaking barriers and moving mountains one day at a time!
