One Size Fits All? Not Even Close!

Kaitlyn Lewicki-Gorney

Genetics make up a HUGE factor in how yours body responds to exercise. There are three different types of body shapes: endomorph, mesomorph, and ectomorph. Endomorph holds on to fat and is harder to get rid of. Mesomorphs are able to develop muscle easier than the other morphs. Ectomorph have a hard time gaining weight and are typically skinny and have a hard time building any muscle. Basically, you can't train one body shape the same as another, and expect the exact same results, because, well, everybody and every body is different. Link is attached below with more information about them. With that being said, if your ideal look is the celebrity bod of the season that you've been eyeing to accomplish your goal, then you're grasping the wrong concept of exercise and loving yourself. There's no such thing as a one size fits all exercise program. You're never gonna look like that person in the magazine, because their body is different as the next person as the next and so on. Take a good look in the mirror and ask yourself "who is it I'm trying to be?" And then ask "what is it am I trying to do with this body of mine?" Taking the steps to a healthier you is more than just external. It's also loving what's on the inside and convincing yourself that you are enough to walk this journey of health.
